Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2010)
Horror Comedies, there has been good ones, for example Scary Movie 1 & 2, Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, The Monster Squad, Shaun of the Dead, and there has been bad ones, for example Scary Movie 3, 4, and 5, Saturday the 14th, Dracula: Dead & Loving It, Repossessed. Thankfully, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil falls into the latter category, being VERY good. This easily ranks up there with Shaun of the Dead and in some ways surpasses the horror comedy zombie flick. The premise is simple and familiar of horror flicks, college kids go into the woods to party and redneck/hillbillies are in the woods trying to kill them. BUT, and the fun lies there in, what if the redneck/hillbillies didn't want to kill them, and the college kids were so used to horror flicks with crazed hillbillies that they just assumed they did want to kill them? Hilarity ensues. Everytime one of these loveable hillbillies tries to be nice or help one of the kids, the kids freak out and accidentally kill themselves, making the other kids think the hillbillies did it. Absolutely hilarious. Especially one fantastic scene involving a chainsaw and a bee. Great movie and I recommend everyone see it. I've heard its coming to VOD (Video on Demand) on August 25th, so definitely check it out if you get the chance. Its got surprisingly good gore, lots of laughs, and an original premise. I wanna see a sequel!
